Walt Disney World resorts

When we went to one of the Walt Disney World resorts we were amazed how expensive things were there. It felt like I could only afford to spend one day there this was probably because it was my first time at one of the Walt Disney World resorts.

Walt Disney World resorts have always been of interest to me. I've just never had the excuse to go before. As soon as my first child was old enough to go to Walt Disney World I decided to take the opportunity.

My daughter loves everything Disney has done including Cinderella, Winnie the pooh, and of course little Einstein's. Right after that first trip to one of the Walt Disney World resorts I knew we would be going back one day because my daughter absolutely loved it.

When we go back next time however we'll be doing things differently. We won't be staying in a Disney World resorts hotel again.

It takes a long time to plan any vacation these days and if you intend to try to save money when doing it as well then it will take you even longer.

Everything in the Walt Disney World resorts is larger than life they are awe-inspiring and the amount of people that go to these resorts is amazing.

Food is a major and exciting event at Walt Disney World it's a very social occasion. Walt Disney serves a staggering 31,000 Cobb salads a year. Surely that's an indication just how popular the park is.

Everyone is familiar with Disney World and their theme parks. However few people know about the amazing activities that can keep you and your children entertained. Most of these activities are either free with entry to the park or offered at a reasonable fee.

We'll look at ten of the most popular attractions at the Disney World resorts

• Kid's fishing excursion - This is a 1 hour angling trip that's designed just for children. It's available at the resort marinas in various resorts. Disney's Contemporary, Polynesian, Yacht and Beach club all offer fishing excursions for kids. You can fish along the shore at Disney's Ft. Wilderness. Fishing rods can be rented in the meadow recreation area at the bike barn. Fishing trips cost around $25 per child.
• Hayrides - these depart every evening from fort wilderness at Pioneer Hall. The ride takes around 45 minutes and it's a very gentle ride which is suitable for many different ages of children. You can also opt for a cowboy guided ride or younger children can have a ride on a pony at the petting farm.
• Sing along - This is a touching experience. Lots of families gather around a campfire every night at Fort Wilderness. They all sing along, toast marshmallows, and can watch an animated Disney movie.
• Watch the parades - There are a number of different parades in Walt Disney resorts. On the seven seas lagoon there is a nightly electrical water pageant parade. This is a free show for all guests.
• Monorail - You can ride up front with the monorail driver. This would certainly make your child's day. All you need to do to make this possible is ask the cast member who is on duty. As long as the front car is empty this will be possible.
• Watermouse boat - Rent a two seat boat to take around one of the lakes. These mini power boats can travel at up to 22 miles per hour. Every child loves them! But you can't let them go on their own you must have a valid drivers license to drive one. These are available at the contemporary, Polynesian, and gland Floridian resorts.
• Themed pools - Everything in Disney World is themed. All of the pools are also themed. The volcano pool features a smoking volcano slide ride, underwater music, and a glistening waterfall. The Wilderness lodge boulder lined pool has waterfalls, a water slide ride, and a geyser near by.
• Pirates cruise - Have a hunt for some buried treasure. These are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Pirate cruses are suitable for children from 3-10 years old. The trip takes two hours and they will be travelling to a deserted island. You don't have to worry about the safety of your children as the trip is fully supervised.
• Wonderland tea party - The wonderland tea party is every day except the weekend at 1:30pm in the 1900 park. This party is hosted by characters out of Alice and wonderland. Little children can choose to play games, listen to stories or drink apple tea. The tea party is only suitable for children aged 3-10.
• Character meal - These are very popular meals. They're offered at both the theme parks and the hotels in many of the resorts. They are an ideal opportunity for your children to spend more time with their beloved Disney characters. There are buffet style restaurants, family style, or pre-plated meals. Whichever type you choose they are all essentially all you can eat meals. The characters walk around the room and will stop at certain tables in order to interact with the guests. If you want priority seats make sure you book well in advance.

So there you have it there are a lot of different things to do at Walt Disney resorts. There's enough to keep the whole family happy. Although it's all themed and suited to children it's still great fun for adults!

Go on give your children and the child inside you a treat and book up to visit one of the Walt Disney World resorts. Just be sure you book up well in advance to avoid disappointment.

There are a lot of things to do at Walt Disney World resorts too much for a two week break. Perhaps that's enough of an excuse to book your return visit early!

The best thing about Walt Disney World resorts is that everything you need is conveniently located under one roof. You don't have to leave the park for anything of course that doesn't mean you can't leave if you want to.
